Adam Thomas addresses long-awaited Emmerdale return: ‘I need to get back’

Legend of Emmerdale Adam Thomas has hinted at a possible comeback to the ITV soap after Matty’s (Ash Palmisciano) stabbing incident.

Adam, 35, just returned to his role as Donte Charles in the BBC One drama Waterloo Road after nine years as alter ego Adam Barton in the Dales series from 2009 to 2018.

This week, he joined together with coffee company Emmi CAFFÊ LATTE to become their “Head Daymaker,” bringing delight to commuters who may need a little more cheer to get through the day.

Adam was the ideal person to get involved since he is the happiest guy in show business. He exclusively revealed his activities to Metro.co.uk, saying, “We were putting a smile on people’s faces, celebrating those small wins in life.”

“We were there to encourage people because we knew that the morning marathon could occasionally be difficult. Our goal was to make people smile and feel happy so they could have the best day possible.”

Adam told us that a recent significant triumph for himself and elder brother Ryan, better known to soap fans as Corrie’s Jason Grimshaw, was reason for a “much deserved pat on the back.” Adam counts himself among the 26% of Brits who find it difficult to grin in the morning.

He said to us, “I just got my own gameshow with my brother.”

“I can’t wait to shoot that very soon,” ITV refers to it as 99 to Beat. It’s finally here, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. It’s a dream come true, therefore I’m quite happy to hear the news.

Making my kids happy is one of my little victories. Ensuring their happiness and putting a smile on their faces is my life’s work and my primary goal.

Together with their brother Scott, a reality TV celebrity, the boys appeared in a trip series called Mancs in Mumbai in 2020. It showed them accompanying their father to the Indian city to learn more about their ancestry. 1947 saw their grandpa leave South Asia and go to the UK.

“Having the opportunity to engage in such activities with my brothers once more would be the cherry on top,” Adam said. “It was truly strange to consider it a job, as it was the most amazing experience of our lives.”

After filming a new season of Waterloo Road, which will premiere later this year, Adam described the part as “the gift that keeps on giving.” Adam played the disturbed youngster Donte in the show’s 2006 original run.

Donte, who is now an adult and provides for his own family, works as the academy’s caretaker and has been influenced by Nicky Walters, a canteen employee (Kym Marsh).

“It’s too early to reveal too much, but a lot is happening, and Waterloo Road fans will soon love the new series.” Don’t we all like a little drama? He made fun of it.

Every fan wonders whether he would ever contemplate going back to the little Yorkshire hamlet after six years away from Emmerdale, but it seems like he would need to catch up on some family matters first.

“I don’t recall where he went.” I believe he visited France. He claimed to be running.

He is correct; after admitting to the murder of Emma Barton (Gillian Kearney), the fictitious Adam performed a nighttime flit in an attempt to save his mother Moira (Natalie J. Robb) from a protracted sentence at Her Majesty’s Pleasure.

Being able to work with some of my best friends—whom I still keep in contact with—was such a great job. It was such a major part of my life.

“I’m fortunate to have this as my career.” One day, I want to return there since I will always have a particular place in my heart for it.

I joined when I was a little child, so I have a lot of wonderful memories there, and I want to return someday. He went on, “I believe my mother and my family are still with me and they’ve left the door open for me. You never know.”

Adam joked, utterly ignorant that Matty Barton had been imprisoned for inadvertently stabbing Samson Dingle (Sam Hall) in a horrifying transphobic incident. “Is he in prison?!?” he exclaimed. Not at all!

“I believe I should return to Emmerdale.”
