Child star Luke Tittensor unrecognisable 15 years on from Emmerdale role

Luke Tittensor, a former Emmerdale star, is a far cry from his Daz Eden character as he walks the red carpet to promote his new project.

Alongside twin brother Elliott, Luke, 34, is starring in the Game of Thrones spin-off House of the Dragon. The guys looked nothing like what we’re used to, with their matching clothing, hipster-style beards, and long hair pulled up in a top knot!

The two created the character of Carl Gallagher in the comedy series Shameless on Channel 4.

The first season was filmed a year before it aired, and Luke was unable to continue when the second season started filming since he had already joined Emmerdale in late 2003 as Andy Sugden’s (Kelvin Fletcher) half-brother Daz.

Having set fire to Scott Windsor’s (Ben Freeman) garage and stolen Jack Sugden’s (Clive Hornby) car in his first few months, he left a lasting impression on his family and the community.

After his love for adopted sister Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) was made public, Daz departed the hamlet for fresh pastures. He remained in the role for the following six years, appearing in almost 500 episodes.

His exit from the show was due to an accusation of serious bodily harm that was made against him. He was persuaded the following year after the February 2008 event in Rochdale, Greater Manchester.

For the assault, Luke received a nine-month suspended sentence and was mandated to perform 200 hours of unpaid labour.

After that, he appeared in a number of television shows as a guest star, including Doctors and Waterloo Road. He also starred in Pudsey the Dog: The Movie, which was based on the dog that took home the British Got Talent award.

A second season of HBO’s wildly successful House of the Dragon, which debuted in 2022, will premiere this Sunday, June 16. Elliott co-stars as Ser Erryk Cargyll, Luke’s brother, the knight Ser Arryk Cargyll.

The new episodes of the show, which begin up after the emotional ending that left characters reeling and vindictive following a shocking death, star Matt Smith and Emma D’Arcy in major roles.
