The accompanying photos suggest that Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) will be unsettled when she returns to Coronation Street next week after witnessing a close friend get struck by a car.
Sam Robertson’s character Adam Barlow will always regret the day he crossed Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) whilst attempting to save Bethany and her soon-to-be ex-wife Sarah (Tina O’Brien) from an incoming car.
Fans are aware that the solicitor is working hard to clear Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths) of his wrongdoings after the gangster’s affair with Sarah the previous year.
But Damon has made it very evident that he intends to stay, enjoying nothing more than giving Adam a hard time since moving into Sarah’s Red Bank flat.
With no other choice, Adam resorted to his even more violent brother Harvey, who is incarcerated for his part in Natasha Blakeman’s (Rachel Leskovac) killing.
Harvey consented to assist Adam in getting out of jail in exchange for him working on an appeal in which the lawyer would accuse John, a terminally ill cancer patient, of causing Natasha’s death.
After using some somewhat dubious tactics to get Harvey’s release, Adam changes his mind and destroys Harvey’s appeal paperwork.
On Monday, March 4, Harvey learns of his treachery, and the criminal informs Adam that he is a “dead man.”
Harvey initiates a revenge scheme that targets Adam and Damon directly, placing Sarah and Bethany in danger, after speaking with an accomplice.
Actress Tina O’Brien described the distressing sequence in question as follows: “[Sarah’s] got her back to the car so she doesn’t see it coming but it’s flying towards her.”
“As a viewer, you know this driver is coming straight for her, knowing what Adam’s gotten himself into.”
When the car speeds around the corner, Adam heroically shoves Sarah and Bethany out of the way since he happens to be with them.
