Tony Maudsley, star of Coronation Street, received a barrage of insults after he was spotted getting back together with a previous co-star, although not from his soap opera role. As of right now, the actor is well-known for playing George Shuttleworth in the ITV serial opera.

When he took over Shuttleworth’s Independent Funeral Directors following the death of his father, Archie Shuttleworth, he ended out on the street and started working with Preston’s Petals. Then, in January 2021, George and Gail Platt learned that Augustus and Fanny Page, their great-great grandparents, were also their grandparents.

Even though Tony played Weatherfield’s own undertaker, many people are still drawn to his previous acting roles, especially as hairdresser Kenneth Du Beke in the popular ITV sitcom Benidorm, which he portrayed from 2011 to 2018.

And over the weekend, Tony delighted fans by revealing that he had run across old Benidorm co-star Sherrie Hewson. For those who have seen the comedy series, Sherrie played Joyce Temple-Savage, the Solana Hotel’s manager, from 2012 until the show’s conclusion in 2018.

Posing with Corrie’s head makeup artist Gillian Walsh and Sherrie, who also portrayed Maureen Holdsworth in the soap opera long before Tony made his Weatherfield debut as George, the soap actor posted on Instagram, saying, “Look who I bumped into in Blackpool yesterday! The one and only Dame Sherrie Hewson, always carrying her purse and her Costa Coffee!”

Following their attendance at Blackpool Pride alongside Gillian and co-stars Rob Mallard and Jodie Prenger, he continued, saying, “A much-needed mini Benidorm reunion was had.” And Joyce and Kenneth didn’t say anything hurtful to one another for the first time ever!”

And his supporters and admirers answered right away. @sbla16 remarked: “Amazing. Benidorm is missed. Actually, @naomib said: “Aww. Would that there could be another series!” In response, @sherries.multi.x said, “Aw, I get it. My sherrie, complete with a lifetime bag and Costa. We adore her, bless her.”

“Amazing image,” commented @mat.dalton.5. “Lovely photo of you and @sherrie.hewson,” shared @nancyhovhanesian. Loved #Benidorm.” In response, @mrsbadcrumble1975 said, “Aaaaaaw how lovely.” Additionally, @vickyann83 said, “Love you guys, we need Benidorm back, new ones are such a great show.”
