In Emmerdale, Sam Dingle (James Hooton) eventually removes his disguise after losing it over Lydia’s (Karen Blick) rape.
Lydia revealed to several members of the Dingle family this week that Craig (Ben Addis) had attacked her.
After that, Lydia went to the police station to report the incident with Sam’s help. After arriving home, Lydia and Sam sat down to inform Samson (Sam Hall). However, the teen’s first response to the news was harsh and inconsiderate toward his stepmother since he didn’t think Craig could have committed such a horrible deed.
Thankfully, Samson had a change of heart; he apologized to Lydia and asked how he might be of assistance.
Everyone’s top focus has been to help Lydia, but this new film serves as a reminder of how important it is to take care of your own emotional and mental health as well.
Will (Dean Andrews) discusses Lydia’s rape with Kim (Claire King) at Home Farm. Sam enters, interrupting them and telling Kim and Will that Lydia is simply “coping.”
Sam tries to divert his attention by bringing up the damaged fence on the property just as Kim is ready to depart. After that, Will gets up to make some tea, obviously attempting to figure out how he might help his friend.
It is then that poor Sam starts crying. He hasn’t given himself any time to pause and consider how the event has affected him because he has been entirely occupied this week with helping Lydia.
