So throughout the show on Tuesday, February 27, Cain was thinking about all of this. Then Michelle Hardwick’s character Vanessa griped about the Woolpack’s warm beer. Cain decided to repair the cooler himself as he didn’t want to add to Chas and Charity’s problems once it broke down.
As Cain tackled the assignment in a sledgehammer-like manner, Ryan (James Moore), Vinny (Bradley Johnson), and Bear (Joshua Richards) watched in frightened amazement. This entailed a lot of hammering.
When Aaron (Danny Miller) entered, he demanded to know why Cain was being so rough with the expensive machinery and why they weren’t stopping him.
Bear reasoned, “None of us want to get brayed with spanner.”
Aaron was unable to remain silent about his rivalry with Cain, which has subsided but is still clearly visible under the surface since Chas’s diagnosis.
“There shouldn’t be any banging,” he informed his uncle. Things proceeded about as well as you could have expected, with Cain becoming angrier at all of Aaron’s advice.
“Will you please back off?” he yelled. This is a skilled technician. Aaron made the observation that he is a skilled mechanic as well. Cain retorted that he was more experienced by years. “I can handle this,”
Aaron said, “If you want to blow the compressor, you do.” But instead of blowing the compressor, Cain blew his top.
“I said I understood it!” With tight teeth, he growled at the delighted Aaron while pointing a wrench across the bar.
Bear stepped in, informing Cain that his efforts had not yielded any results and relinquishing his hold on the spanner. Then Cain stepped aside to let Bear give Aaron the spanner. “You’re awake, young man.”
Aaron successfully completed the task in spite of Cain’s doubts, and he gave his uncle a cool pint (along with some humble pie).
