It looks like it might all be over for Liam and Ella on Emmerdale after he makes an unforgivable accusation after the pair head to the baby scan together
After everything on Emmerdale, Ella and Liam look unlikely to find things working out.
When Liam discovered Ella’s secret—that she had slain another kid when she was young—the couple’s relationship naturally came to an end. She left the community, then came back with the news she is pregnant.
Liam examines her, however, as she develops stomach problems. She is not very thrilled about it, but he is eager to go with Ella for the scan; she needs him to take her till transportation problems arise.
There is a concern when the sonographer reports: no fetus could be located. Furious, Liam yells at Ella, charging her of lying to him about a kid. Paddy comforts him as he attempts to figure out why Ella lied about the pregnancy; however, is it all as it looks – or is another side to what happened?
When the news leaked out that Ella had murdered her closest friend at the age of eleven, Liam and Ella broke up.
Playing Liam in the ITV serial, Johnny McPherson said at the time: “I believe this relationship is now almost definitely cooked! I mean never say never, but I would say it’s almost certain. She might have told him the truth many times.
“She had so many opportunities to inform him about her history but she did not. And simply the reality she moved into his house and they were really sharing a home. He was residing rather near to someone who had murdered a daughter. Many levels of deception exist here. He is very disturbed and feels totally deceived. There isn’t any returning from that, in my opinion.”
Paula Lane, who portrays Ella, said why she hid her secret from Liam: “Ella is so embarrassed of her history and she knows that as soon as she confesses everything she risks losing everything with Liam. She has had to move on and start anew every time the truth has come out in the past; so, it is rather difficult to disclose and know that there is no turning back now.
“I suppose she believes he deserves the truth particularly given everything he went through with Leanna. She bears a burden at the rear of her thoughts all the time. Acting as usual is a temporary remedy; behind closed doors, remorse is very real. Every birthday reminds her of what occurred and will never let her to move on completely.
