Next week in Emmerdale, Daisy Campbell’s character Amelia Spencer will be anxiously awaiting word on Samson Dingle’s (Sam Hall) plea hearing.

For the past year, when her father Dan (Liam Fox) was sent to prison, Amelia has depended on the help of her friends and distant relatives. Amelia is doing reasonably well for herself and little Esther, who is also Samson’s daughter, despite the difficulties.

After Samson came clean about getting stabbed by Matty (Ash Palmsiciano), he was sentenced to prison. Following the ordeal, Samson was told to lie by Josh (Osian Morgan) in order to avoid going to prison. Following Josh’s instructions, Samson stood by and watched as an innocent Matty was carried out of the community and placed in jail.

When Samson found out that Matty had planned an attack on him while he was incarcerated, he came clean. But now he has to deal with the fallout.

Next, Moira (played by Natalie J. Robb) still wants her retribution and finds it difficult to conceal her disdain for Samson.

In the meantime, Samson musters the courage to confront Josh, but when their son is subsequently jailed for abusing the teenager, Sam (James Hooton) and Lydia (Karen Blick) are appalled.

The following day, Cain (Jeff Hordley) questions whether Moira had anything to do with Samson’s arrest and can’t help but think if she set him up.

Amelia is nervous in the Woolpack, waiting for word on Samson’s hearing. She fears what would happen to Esther, who will have to face imprisonment for her biological father.

Lydia shows in a short while later with some news from the court.

What will it be, though?
