While Fiz Dobbs (Jenny McAlpine) and Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) of Coronation Street have undoubtedly had a difficult path to happiness, their relationship has largely been uneventful since their reunion in 2022 – at least up until this point.
But in upcoming moments, Fiz is going to be shocked when she sees someone from their past who could have a significant impact on their future.
The beloved Weatherfield character runs across Alina Pop (Ruxandra Porojnicu) in the parking lot the following week while she is going about her business and shopping at Fresco’s.
Fans of soap operas will recall that the character debuted in 2019 as a part of a narrative centred on human trafficking.
Later, after Tyrone’s shocking admission that he was in love with Alina, Fiz and Tyrone tried to work things out but ultimately parted ways with Tyrone moving in with Alina.
Nevertheless, Alina left the Street in 2021, ending their romance.
Despite her assuring Tyrone otherwise, it was strongly indicated at the time that she was expecting Tyrone’s child.
Alina says she has been called as a witness in a trial when Fiz visits her again the following week.
While Fiz struggles with whether to inform Tyrone that Alina has returned, her decision is made for her later in the week when his mother Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) recognises Alina’s name on an airline reservation at the taxi stand.
She helps Alina get into the car by hailing Steve McDonald’s (Simon Gregson) cab, and then she drives her back to Coronation Street to see Tyrone.
When Alina realises she’s been tricked, she’s outraged, but what will she say to him in person? Is there a kid he’s hiding?
