Spoilers for General Hospital suggest that following the passing of his father, Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison), Dr. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) experienced a severe depressive episode. Finn began to drink as a result. For Finn, as an addict, this was a risky scenario. He noticed that he was losing control of himself.

Finn was persuaded to check himself into treatment, where he will remain for at least the next ninety days, by his friends and family. However, before departing, Finn said his little daughter Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) a heartfelt farewell. With her uncle Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and his recently married wife Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton), Violet will be in good care.

Violet is going to miss her father much, and it’s hard to think that Finn will be able to keep his distance from her for any longer than is necessary. Fans of Easton naturally hope that after the allotted 90 days, Finn will make a comeback. What, though, does Easton have to say about a potential comeback?

In a recent interview, Easton expressed feeling that his character had a sense of closure. To him, it seemed like an eternal farewell. Regretfully, this implies that Finn’s return to the screen is unlikely to happen very soon.

Finn would probably be recast if he were to return. That seems improbable, though, unless the program just intended to take the character in a whole other way. The direction that the program takes with Violet in the future will determine Finn’s future.

It’s feasible that Finn may appear off-screen and take Violet with him to a different place to start over. Finn has expressed his desire to rejoin Doctors Without Borders, and this may be the ideal chance for him to do so while bringing Violet along.

Violet being in Port Charles would probably imply that Finn would have some sort of setback that would prevent him from seeing his beloved daughter. Maybe there would be some kind of mishap back home, and Finn would die off screen.
