Daniel Brocklebank of Coronation Street received support after sharing a crucial message.

The soap opera performer gained notoriety for his Cobbles character, Billy Mayhew. Billy finds himself at the focus of one of the most compelling plots on the show: Paul Foreman, Billy’s spouse, has been diagnosed with motor neurone disease.

Daniel finds the plot especially poignant since his grandfather passed away from the illness. In honour of Global MND Awareness Day, Daniel, an MND association ambassador, has gone to Instagram.

“It’s important to highlight the role of the carers on Global MND Awareness Day as someone who has lost a family member to MND and now plays the role of a carer in our @coronationstreet storyline and as an ambassador for the @mndassoc,” he added.

“Taking care of oneself often comes in second when helping someone with motor neuron disease. It might seem insurmountable to consider eating well and getting enough sleep, much alone exercising, taking breaks, or going outdoors. Even though it might be challenging, you might require assistance at some point, and the MND Association is available to you.

For recommendations and direction about well-being, look at “MND Support for carers” online or give MND Connect a call at 0808 802 6262. You’re not alone yourself.

Supporters commended Daniel in the comments for bringing up the topic. “Amazing post,” Beckie commented.

Daniel continued, saying, “This is such an amazing post.” Paul, Nicky, and Sally all exchanged many heart-emojis.
