When Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy)’s family member decides their time in Emmerdale is coming to an end, there will be heartache ahead.

With a bombshell in hand, Suni Sharma (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) approaches Laurel and tells her that her lover Nicky Miligan (Lewis Cope) wants them to go as far away from his dishonest parents as possible.

Laurel and Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson), Suni’s new family, had taken him in after his own father abandoned him, but he is conflicted about what he would be giving up to please his partner.

He tells Laurel about his departure plan, and she is devastated to hear that Suni could be going.

She urges him to reconsider since, should he decide to go, it will leave a tremendous void in the family.

Suni finds this thought-provoking, but Nicky is keen to move on and start over because of his mother Ruby Fox-Miligan’s (Beth Cordingly) role in Ethan Anderson’s (Emile John) hit-and-run right before his tragic death.

However, something is going to happen that could change Suni’s opinion of him: the truth about Jai’s abuse of Amit and the real reason he owns all the stock in the HOP.

Pollard (Chris Chittell) gives Laurel a hint that there is a romantic relationship between him and Jai. She is shocked when Pollard refuses to pay for his drinks and insensitively advises Laurel to speak with Jai after she observes a heated confrontation.

With a suspicion in her mind and confusion about the situation, she goes to face her spouse.

Jai, who is already tormented by guilt, understands he is being forced into a difficult situation and that the truth is about to come to light.

Is this the only reason Suni must go from the Dales and never return?
