Fans of Coronation Street believe Sarah Platt (played by Tina O’Brien) is about to start dating again, and this time, the guy is quite different from her bad boy boyfriend.
This evening, Tina O’Brien’s character Sarah Platt on Coronation Street was furious as she attempted to break into the vehicle of the evil Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper). She blows up in a fit of rage, desperate to keep her daughter Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) safe after the pimp was freed from jail after being found guilty of raping her and forcing her into prostitution.
But sharp-eyed supporters think they’ve seen sparks fly in another direction as well, noting that she seems interested in Kit, the son of Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove), the new constable on the scene. Fans find the former Hollyoaks star, whose actual name is Jacob Roberts, to be quite the heartthrob, and it seems that Sarah is succumbing to his charms as the drama on the ITV soap opera heats up.
“We’d never even heard of this long lost son of Bernie’s until 5 minutes ago, and now he’s turning up everywhere ffs #coronationstreet #Corrie,” a fan tweeted. Following tonight’s event, a large number of fans have turned to Twitter to express their belief that the two have the potential to become romantically involved.
One admirer boldly said, “Bernie’s copper son will be the next one in Sarah’s bed!” Another person said, “I can see Kit and Sarah getting romantic.”
“Sarah will be sh*g this new detective by the end of the week,” a third person firmly said. Bernie recently caused quite a stir when she disclosed that she had given birth to a long-lost son named Zodiac, whom she had “abandoned” and placed for adoption when she was younger, but that she was now frantic to trace her lineage.
After locating him using his assumed identity in public records, she recently pretended to be a cleaner looking for work in order to get entry to his house.
When he saw her rummaging through his house, he ordered her leaving, believing her to be a thief.
He angrily rejected the idea that he may be her son when she came clean and acknowledged it, but viewers watched him pick up a jade elephant—the one she said she had left for him as a parting gift—just before he was placed for adoption.
With Kit’s identity as Zodiac now clear to viewers, he has begun appearing more often on film in his role as a police officer.
Twitter users made jokes about PC Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) being demoted and asked: “I wonder if PC Tinker is p****d off that he’s been relegated in favour of Zodiac.”
In tonight’s episode, he was kind and understanding as Sarah shared her dissatisfaction with Nathan returning, particularly given that Bethany’s internet research has connected him to a relapsed sex pest who continues to prey on impressionable young girls.
Sarah may be falling in love with Kit, also known as Zodiac, but he’s not at all like the bad boy Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths), with whom she had an affair the previous year, which led to her divorcing husband Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson).
Damon, who was slated to kill Adam in a retaliation scheme, was shown as a criminal with a soft spot on occasion. He was sentenced to six years in prison for an armed robbery that his brother had orchestrated.
Fans now believe Sarah is seeing stars in relation to Zodiac, so naturally, the question “Is Sarah going to jump from the bad boys to a copper?” has been raised.
