Louisa Lytton, who played Ruby Allen in EastEnders until she left the BBC series in 2021, isn’t ruling out a comeback.

In 2005, Ruby made her debut appearance in Walford and remained there for a year before leaving.

She came back in 2018 and was embroiled in several terrifying plotlines, one of which dealt with consent.

However, two years later, Louisa has indicated that character Ruby may possibly return to Albert Square. Louisa departed EastEnders before the birth of her daughter Aura, whom she shares with husband Ben Bhanvra.

She said in an interview with OK! Magazine that a comeback was “definitely” conceivable from a plot perspective.

Storywise, I could accomplish that without a doubt. Louisa said, “There could be a kid waiting to pop up in Walford since Ruby was pregnant [when she left].

James Bye, who at the time portrayed my husband Martin Fowler, is still a part of the program. Who knows, then? Since I got my start in EastEnders and fell in love there, I’d never say never.

However, Louisa just disclosed her next endeavor, which would keep her away from the Square, so her comeback may not happen right soon.

The actress will play Jenny in the UK tour of 2:22 A Ghost Story beginning in September.

Louisa announced her new job on Instagram, and other EastEnders actors flocked to the comments to express their joy.

Tamzin Outhwaite and Balvinder Sopal both posted applauding emojis, while Lola Pearce actress Dannielle Harold commented, “I can’t tell you how excited I am for this.”

James Farrar, who plays Zack Hudson, commented, “Yessss Lou,” and Milly Zero, who plays Dotty Cotton, “Congrats Lou.”

Could Louisa be returning to EastEnders after her performance in 2:22 A Ghost Story? All we can do is wait and see.
