One of the long-running soap opera Coronation Street’s most adored characters is making a shocking comeback.

She watched the program even after she left in 2020, giving her thoughts on some scenes as early as April.

Lucy Fallon is apparently resuming her role as Bethany Platt and returning to Weatherfield after a three-year hiatus.

While actress Lucy took some time off to start a family and pursue other projects, Bethany ultimately left the community to work for a magazine in London.

According to rumors, the 27-year-old will start filming in the next months, and her first episodes will premiere “after Christmas.”

From 2015 through 2020, Lucy played a prominent role in the serial opera, earning several accolades for her grooming-related plot.

She left Coronation Street at the same time she met her partner Ryan Ledson, with whom she has a son today.

Sonny Jude, Lucy’s new child, was born in January of this year, but after some time away, the mother is prepared to return to Corrie.

She remains close friends with Craig Tinker, played by Colson Smith, 24, and his on-screen mother Tina O’Brien, 39.

Everyone was sad to see her depart since she was bound for great things, but a source told The Sun that “the door was always going to be left open for someone of her calibre and popularity.”

“Bosses” contacted her a few weeks earlier with the prospect of returning and informed her of all their plans for Bethany if she accepted.

They continued by saying that she is juggling her comeback with being a new mother, but she is eager to start filming once more.

Everyone is ecstatic.

The insider said, “They were really eager to get her back.”
