Coronation Street spoilers: All over for Kirk Sutherland and Beth Tinker as he moves out

Beth and Kirk’s journey to a conclusion? (Image from ITV)

The iconic partnership of Kirk Sutherland (Andrew Whyment) and Beth Tinker (Lisa George) on Coronation Street has endured many storms over the course of 11 years, including bigamy, but it appears that it may finally be crumbling now that Beth’s affair with her ex-boyfriend Marco (Paul Albertson) went a little too far.

When Beth just reunited with Marco, she was eager to recapture her earlier years, when she adored the Human League and looked like Madonna from the Desperately Seeking Susan period. She and her ex-boyfriend Marco were still clearly attracted to one another, and Beth couldn’t help but see him once again.

In the episode that aired on Wednesday, April 19, Kirk had planned a special dinner for him and Beth, but a remorseful Beth informed him that she would have to cancel since she was going out to drinks with some old friends. She met Marco at a hotel bar, and it turned out that he was one of these old friends.

Embarrassingly, Faye (Ellie Leach), Craig’s (Colson Smith) partner, was one of the first individuals she saw at the pub. Faye was also secretly having an affair with Jackson (Joseph Evans), her own ex. Beth reassured Faye that there was nothing wrong with her and that Kirky was the only guy for her while the two ladies made excuses for why they were there and, more specifically, why they were with the people they were with.

A short time later, she told Marco the same thing with the same sincerity, putting a stop to their flirty encounters forever. Then she returned to Coronation Street, where a surprise awaited.

When Faye arrived with Jackson during Beth’s night out with Marco, she was completely taken aback (ITV).

Kirk was packing up his belongings to leave their home. He informed Beth of his departure since he had evidence that she had been cheating on him with Marco.

When Beth and Marco first met, Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan) took pictures and documented the moment when Beth resisted Marco’s attempts to kiss her. Hope, a budding photographer, managed to catch the brief moment before Beth withdrew, making the image seem much more accusatory than it really was.

Kirk was so upset that he asked Beth to take care of Peanut and promised to return to talk about dog custody later.

Of course, Hope was seeking retribution on Beth because of Peanut. Beth punched Hope and then lied about it after they got into a fight about Hope accusing Peanut of killing her pet chinchilla. Beth now has a lot of amends to make while Hope is still fuming over Beth’s actions.

Hope’s expression made it obvious that, in her eyes, the job was done as Kirk tried to drown his sorrows while eating shepherd’s pie with Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) and Hope.

Lisa George told us, “I think they can get through this, but it might take a while for Kirk to trust her again.” He will be seriously harmed, and she is aware of her error.

Will Kirk be able to find forgiveness in his heart?

ITV1 and ITVX will continue to air Coronation Street on Friday, April 21 at 8 p.m.
