Eliza (Savannah Kunyo), the granddaughter of Stu Carpenter (Bill Fellows) in Coronation Street, was struck by a vehicle a few weeks earlier and was taken to the hospital.

The sequences in the narrative whereby Eliza has tried to establish a rapport with her father, Dom. Eliza got into a fight with Stu at the precinct over Dom not showing up for a visit, which led her to jump out of his vehicle and be struck by another.

This incident will be picked up again in later episodes when Tyrone (Alan Halsall) is approached by a policeman who informs him that they have grounds to think his automobile was engaged in a hit-and-run.

Tyrone comes into the café while the police are examining the vehicle and inquires about Cassie’s (Claire Sweeney) whereabouts on September 11.

Even when Cassie insists she had nothing to do with the hit-and-run, Evelyn (Maureen Lipman) obviously doesn’t buy it.

Cassie grabs for a bottle, and Kevin (Michael Le Vell) finds her afterwards. Kevin gives her the couch at Number 13, pointing out that she is not fit to return home.

However, did Cassie initiate Eliza’s hospitalisation?

Who was, if not,?
