Coronation Street star ‘thought life was over’ after being axed from show

Ellie Leach, a former cast member of Coronation Street, talked candidly about her departure from the ITV soap opera and how at first she thought her “life” was “over.”

Last year, the actress who played Faye Windass quit the programme. Faye made the decision to leave Weatherfield and start over with her small family after her daughter Miley and her ex-boyfriend Jackson reappeared in her lives.

Ellie left the company soon after and went on to win the Strictly Come Dancing competition on BBC One.

The well-known face is now appearing in the Cluedo 2 theatre play with Jason Durr from Casualty.

Even while Ellie has been quite busy since leaving the ITV serial opera, she was undoubtedly afraid for her future when she learned she would be leaving Corrie, despite having played the role for more than ten years.

Speaking on the most recent edition of Drama Queens on ITVBe, Ellie considered the year that had passed since leaving Coronation Street.

It still amazes me that I left Corrie about a year ago. “It was right after my birthday, wasn’t it?” she asked her parents in a conversation.

For more than a decade, Ellie portrayed Faye (Picture: ITV).

And to think that I was kind of like, “I don’t know what I’m going to do, I’m really scared, and I don’t know what’s gonna happen,” when I left Corrie.

Ellie said, “On Corrie, when I got told that they had a storyline for me but it was going to be an exit storyline, obviously I was like, “Oh my goodness, my life’s done.” ” during her solo talk with the camera. I said to myself, “I have nothing.” I’m unemployed, and I have no idea when or if I’ll get another one in the future.

And thank God, Strictly arrived a few weeks later. It’s almost like a blessing in disguise, she continued. Because I wouldn’t have had the year I have if it hadn’t occurred.

The good news that Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter is expecting her second child was also disclosed on the most recent episode of Drama Queens.

In 2022, Jorgie and her partner Ollie had their first child, Forest. The couple had experienced a heartbreaking struggle a year earlier when Jorgie lost quadruplets at 14 weeks pregnant.
