Leaving the Square for the stage, EastEnders legend Charlie Brooks will be performing with Emmerdale star Liam Fox in the UK run of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Between 1999 and 2022, the 42-year-old famous actress sometimes portrayed the sultry Janine Butcher in the BBC serial opera.

After her last departure, she was involved in a heated confrontation on a cliff with Linda (Kellie Bright) and Mick Carter (Danny Dyer), which resulted in the former going lost at sea and being assumed to be dead.

When Janine got back to the Vic, she tried to kick Linda and her mother-in-law Shirley (Linda Henry) out of the bar, which made Shirley try to choke her. Janine blamed Linda for the whole thing.

Sid Owen’s character, brother Ricky, was appalled by his sister’s behaviour and dialled 911.

Off-screen, it was then revealed that she had given birth to Mick’s kid while incarcerated and had been sentenced to five years in jail after entering a guilty plea.

She will now play a completely new, but no less evil, character in the national tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang: The Musical.

She will act out the role of the Child Catcher at thirteen different locations in the United Kingdom.

The production is based on the 1968 movie of the same name, which starred Dick Van Dyke and was adapted from Ian Fleming’s novel, the creator of the James Bond series, four years earlier.

Actor Liam Fox of Emmerdale, well known for portraying Dan Spencer, will join Charlie on stage to play Grandpa Potts.

After Dan was sentenced to eight years in prison for the murder of the eerie Lloyd Sawyer (Matt Sutton), Liam departed the ITV serial opera last year.

Lloyd murdered Dan with a single blow while stalking his daughter Amelia (Daisy Campbell).

When he was performing in London last month, he disclosed that he was billeted with his old co-star Bhaskar Patel.

“First day of rehearsals for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on Tour tomorrow, being looked after in London for the duration by my mucka Bhaskar Patel,” he said in a charming Instagram photo.

“Exciting times in store.”
