In EastEnders, Freddie Slater’s (Bobby Brazier) whole life is about to come crumbling down as he chooses to seek down his father, rapist Graham Foster.

Executive producer Chris Clenshaw previously claimed that ‘Freddie will eventually find out the truth about his dad,’ and although EastEnders hasn’t specified how or when that will happen, it will undoubtedly flip his life upside down.

Freddie came on Albert Square last year assuming Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) was his real father, but was shocked to discover that Billy wasn’t his original father, and that his mother, Little Mo Slater (Kacey Ainsworth), had been lying to him his whole life.

It’s logical that Little Mo would withhold the truth from Freddie, given that she became pregnant after being raped by Graham in 2003.

Though Freddie opted not to look for his biological father after learning the truth about Billy, he is ready to alter his mind in the next moments.

When Alfie Moon (Shane Richie)’s initial plans for a surprise party for Bert and Ernie are thwarted, Freddie is touched by the fatherly attachment Alfie has with the twins and decides he wants to discover his own father.

He approaches his aunt Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and begs to know who his father is, but she dismisses him in order to shield him from the dreadful reality.

‘Freddie finds it upsetting that no one wants to offer him any answers, but he also doesn’t understand because he can’t understand why no one will and why no one wants to tell him,’ actor Bobby Brazier said.

‘He can’t get his brain around the thought that there could be a reason; he simply feels everyone else is being unfair and doesn’t have time for him.’

This does not dissuade Freddie, who quickly turns to Alfie and Billy to get any information he can from them.

Fearing that something would be revealed, Kat jumps in and offers to give him the truth later.

When it comes down to it, though, she ends up lying in order to keep her sister’s confidence.

Kat subsequently confides in Jean Slater and Harvey Monroe (Gillian Wright and Ross Boatman) and casually mentions Graham’s name while unknowing that son Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) is listening.

Tommy goes to meet Freddie and shares his father’s name, armed with the knowledge Freddie is anxious for.

Freddie quickly starts his search and is overjoyed when he discovers the name ‘Graham Foster’ on a vehicle dealership website, complete with a contact number.

Freddie enlists Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) to assist him organize a secret meeting with Graham, eager to finally see his father.

Freddie arrives to the showroom on the pretence of wanting to test drive a vehicle, but is immediately stunned by the sight of his father.

Freddie, unable to restrain himself, discloses his actual nature.

Kat, Billy, and Alfie are horrified to hear of Freddie’s intentions and rush to locate him.

Kat, frantic, puts pressure on Bobby to divulge his whereabouts, but will she arrive in time?

Bobby Brazier has stated that the truth about Graham would ‘throw everything upside down’ for Freddie at some time.

‘Freddie had never considered this to be the truth of the situation, and it is the farthest thing from his mind that it could be true.’
