In Tuesday’s (June 13) episode of EastEnders, Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths), Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris), and Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) were shocked when they received a letter from Grey Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith).

After killing Chantelle (Jessica Plummer), Tina (Luisa Bradshaw-White), and Kush (Davood Ghadami), Grey is presently incarcerated. The character first appeared in 2019, showing himself as a caring and giving person but constantly abusing his wife Chantelle behind closed doors.

The next year, after a fight with Grey, Chantelle’s life ended when he pushed his wife onto an open dishwasher and injured her with the silverware within.

Tina was the next victim of Gray’s terrible deeds as he attempted to hide his role in Chantelle’s death.

Tina was able to conclude that Grey killed Chantelle because of her prior experiences with violent partners. Tina passed away just as she was about to expose the truth.

Grey killed Kush in 2021 by shoving him in front of an approaching Underground train. Grey killed Kush in an effort to stop him from leaving and establishing a new life with Whitney (Shona McGarty), with whom he had become obsessed.

The end of Kush’s existence in Walford caused a significant outcry among EastEnders viewers. Many criticised Kush’s last moments for having a number of story gaps and said that he deserved a better resolution.

When the circumstances behind Chantelle, Kush, and Tina’s killings came to light last year, Grey was ultimately placed under custody. Grey attempted to flee after Whitney and Kheerat (Jaz Deol) became aware of his actions. At one point, it appeared as though he would fall off a bridge, but Whitney and Mitch made sure Grey left Albert Square in the back of a police car rather than a body bag.

In tonight’s episode, Mitch received a letter that served as a reminder to him, Bernie, and Chelsea that Grey is still attempting to take over their life even though he is incarcerated.

The characters all rejected Gray’s request to meet his children, Mack and Mia, including Chelsea, who informed Mitch that she would not permit Grey to see their infant boy, Jordan, should he attempt to organise a visit as well.
