After a purported paper purporting to include plot lines for the following year leaked online, EastEnders writer Daran Little refuted accusations of a storyline leak.

After a Reddit user posted an image of what seemed to be an alleged screenplay that purported to contain details from an episode from 2024, speculation was at an all-time high among fans of the programme.

The user said that the aforementioned item had been abandoned during a story conference for the BBC One serial opera.

Social media users tagged author Daran Little in the hopes that he might clarify the situation after seeing the photograph and asking if this leaked manuscript was real.

One of EastEnders’ most well-known writers, Daran, responded to one user by saying, “This is not legit,” giving supporters the security they required.

Fans responded with “thank you” and “knew it,” expressing relief at learning this to be the truth.

With producer Chris Clenshaw in charge, EastEnders is having one of its best years in recent memory. Since taking over, he has supervised many critically praised storylines.

The British series Awards last week saw the BBC One series take home four prizes, including Best Soap, demonstrating that the audience has taken note of its outstanding work.

For the first time in eight years, EastEnders has won the prestigious prize, and following the past 12 months, it’s safe to say the programme more than deserves the distinction.

With the Knight clan’s secrets still to be revealed, as well as the outcome of a Christmas flashforward and Cindy Beale’s return, EastEnders is showing no signs of being anything less than brilliant for the rest of this year into the next, so if you haven’t already, it’s time to start watching it again.

Monday through Thursday at 7:30 p.m. on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, EastEnders airs.
