Emmerdale spoiler video: Tom has shaken Belle in his evil clutches again but gets a nasty shock

Viewers hoped that removing themselves from evil, controlling husband Tom King (James Chase) would help Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) realise that what he’d been putting her through wasn’t normal and needed to stop when she was recently admitted to a mental health crisis unit on Emmerdale.

When Belle and her therapist discussed the events that had preceded her present problem, a lot of them pointed back to Tom, it appeared as though it may possibly occur.

Belle was terrified in her own house after Tom staged a break-in and tampered with her prescription to make her believe she wasn’t taking her medication as prescribed. Tom had also isolated Belle from her friends and family and tracked her whereabouts via apps and webcams.

He was using more and more aggressive methods of control and manipulation, but when Belle begged him for assistance, he turned the tables and told GP Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) that Belle was the one with the issue. What Tom had mentioned looked to be confirmed when she shoved him later in the street in front of witnesses.

The spectators were unaware that she had assaulted him after he purposefully incited her with some deplorable comments about her mother.

Particularly after she requested that Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) be her sole guest rather than Tom, Tom detested the idea that she was in the apartment and not under his authority. So he came up with an awful scheme to lure her back.

He gave Piper, the couple’s dog, a medicine so that it appeared as though she was terminally sick. Then, knowing that telling Belle that Piper was sick would immediately bring his wife back to the town, he sent Lydia to do so.

In a recent video, Tom gets his desire and Belle returns to Dale Head. She is relieved to discover Piper is healing marvellously (because Tom has stopped giving her drugs). However, it appears that Belle has no intention of remaining.

She informs Tom that Belle feels it would be a good idea to accept Debbie Dingle’s (Charley Webb) invitation to spend some time in Scotland with her and Zak (Steve Halliwell). She can go on walks and decompress.

Tom informs Belle, “You can do that here,” and she appears discouraged since she lacks the strength to argue the point with him.

Then, when he questions her about what happened in the assessment unit, Belle replies hesitantly that they spoke about how many things in her life had changed recently, including the fact that she had not been married for a long time.

“Is our marital status relevant to this?” Tom queries. Simply put: everything. Belle rushes over for an embrace with Lydia and Sam Dingle (James Hooton) before she has a chance to respond.

Tom’s phoney smile soon disappears as he understands that, despite bringing Belle back home, he would never be able to really separate her because of the Dingles.

What’s going through Tom’s thoughts as he caresses the head of the small puppy he was willing to murder in order to get his wife back?

What else is there to him?
