Since her father Dan (Liam Fox) was imprisoned for killing her stalker with a single blow, Amelia (Daisy Campbell) has been barely getting by over the past few weeks. Dan was sentenced to eight years in jail as a result of his conduct, leaving the teenage mother on her own.
Since she moved out on her own, Amelia has been finding it difficult to pay for college and has been thinking about dropping out.
Her troubles still exist since she must take handouts from Sam, who can hardly afford them himself; living with Chas doesn’t make things better.
She may be fighting, but something is about to send her plummeting back to the ground.
Amelia went into labor during the terrible Emmerdale storm exactly one year ago. Amelia’s “star,” or miracle baby, became one year old this year. She’s made it through her first year of parenthood!
But without the young girl’s adoring grandfather around to celebrate, the historic occasion is shrouded in grief.
Amelia is well aware of the enormous void Dan has created.
She is even more distressed when she gets a birthday card from a broken-hearted Dan, which serves as a harsh reminder that he shouldn’t be where he is.
