Matthew Wolfenden breaks silence on Charley Webb split as they ‘find their way’

Matthew Wolfenden, a former Emmerdale star, spoke candidly about co-parenting with his ex-wife Charley Webb.

The actor, 44, who plays David Metcalfe, first laid eyes on Charley in 2007 while working on the Dales set. They ended their relationship last year.

Matthew described his life after his separation to the panel on Monday’s episode of Loose Women.

“I believe we are still figuring things out,” he said. “The good news is that Charley and I are best friends, which is amazing.”

“Although it is still new to us, we are still kind of getting our bearings and figuring out how to do it well,” he said. I believe we are, too.

In an attempt to put up a unified face, Charley and her husband Matthew, an Emmerdale co-star, confirmed their separation on Instagram back in November.

The mother of three shown her support for Matthew last Christmas by bringing their kids to watch him perform in the musical Elf.

At the end of last month, Matthew departed from his Emmerdale character, David Metcalfe.

The store owner made the decision to leave the Dales and go to London, where he now lives with his daughter Amba and her mother Priya Sharma (Fiona Wade).

David made his choice after discovering that Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins), his former partner, was seeing his son Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant).
