In a shocking turn of events for Coronation Street, Joel Deering was recently revealed to be the murderer of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton). However, Joel actor Calum Lill’s grandmother was taken aback by the revelation.
Calum’s grandmother is an avid watcher of the show, and he has previously shared screenshots of their text conversations, in which she begged him to be kind to Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) after it was discovered that Joel was already married.
As he said, it was understandable that Calum found it difficult to hide the shocking revelation about Lauren’s true murderer from her and the rest of his family.
“Even my family is unaware of it; they will have learned the same time as the viewers. It has been challenging.” They weren’t suspicious, in my opinion, since they probably didn’t believe that I could portray a villain like Joel.
A few weeks ago, my family and I were eating Sunday dinner together, and they were all chatting about their various opinions about who they thought it was. And everyone of them has their own, and not a single one of them believes it to be Joel.
They haven’t shown any signs of suspicion towards me. They trusted me even though they knew there were dubious folks on the internet!
He chuckled and said, “I don’t know but I am going to try and watch it with her. It will be like watching a horror film, she will lose her mind, she might call the police, she will want to ring Dee-Dee,” when asked how he believed his grandmother would react.
“Even though she has only known my girlfriend for four years, she has a strong bond with Joel and Dee-Dee.”
Fortunately, Calum was able to see the big revelation with his grandmother, and he captured her response on camera!
Calum posted a video of his grandma’s response on TikTok, and it’s fair to say that she was taken aback!
“You’re telling me my grandson is a murderer?” As the credits rolled, she said. You abused her! That is unbelievable!
After being seen over five million times, the video quickly gained popularity, with viewers laughing at Calum’s grandmother’s response.
With many laughing emojis, Kels stated, “She looked at you like it was CCTV footage of real life events.”
Another admirer said, “Granny turned around like she was next,” but Stace clarified that, “she’s not angry, she’s just disappointed.”
Someone else remarked, “That’s you off the Christmas card list.” Calum jokingly responded, “I think you’re right.”
After Joel was found to have killed Lauren, the story took even more turns when it was discovered that he had also been grooming Ellie, a sex worker, and had paid her to lie to Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) in order to keep the evidence against Nathan Curtis (Chris Harper) growing.
