The star was forced to pull out of I’m A Celebrity late last year
Star of Coronation Street Alan Halsall spoke candidly about his breakup with Cobbles co-star Tisha Merry.
February marked the end of the couple’s five-year relationship.
Tisha, 30, has been known as waitress Steph Britton for the last five years, while Alan, 41, has been playing mechanic Tyrone Dobbs for 26 years.
The actor made a playful jest on social media about how little grownup time he has been spending recently.
After posting a picture of his rambunctious new puppy attempting to hump his leg, he cheekily commented, “It seems we’re not the greatest of friends.
“Most action I’ve had in a while ffs fml,” the user said, adding an emoji of a handshake.
The couple split up at the beginning of the year after meeting on the ITV soap opera set.
“Alan and Tisha had a lot of love for each other and had really similar interests, enjoying socialising and going on holiday together,” an informant claimed yesterday.
However, they began to drift apart and were overwhelmed by the responsibility to keep their love going. When they found they couldn’t agree on anything, they decided to part ways.
They have been encircling themselves with their own group and concentrating on themselves.
“Tisha is devoting herself to her work and moved out of Alan’s house about a month ago.”
Following a significant knee surgery late in the previous year, Alan was compelled to leave I’m A Celebrity and take a leave of absence from Corrie.
It is believed that he suffered an injury during physical activity, leading to reconstructive anterior cruciate ligament surgery in November.
With his ex-wife, 40-year-old Lucy-Jo Hudson, the actress from Hollyoaks and Corrie, Alan has a ten-year-old daughter named Sienna.
2009 saw the couple’s marriage end in 2018.
Tisha was cast in the BBC medical serial opera Doctors last year; she has now deleted all images of Alan from her Instagram account.
Alan uploaded a picture of his daughter on Valentine’s Day, referring to her as “My Valentine’s,” while Tisha sent a mysterious note about “fears and insecurities.”
Before dating, they were yoga partners, having parted ways with Tisha when she left Corrie in 2019.
Not long after, she moved into Alan’s house in Worsley, Greater Manchester.
“It’s nice we built a strong foundation before anything romantic,” she said in an interview with OK Magazine in 2020.
