After publishing her expose on the events leading up to the acid attack and her friendship with Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott), Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) of Coronation Street has started her plan of retaliation against Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon).
Fans of the ITV soap opera will recall that when Bethany returned to Weatherfield on New Year’s Eve, she immediately started looking for a story to help fund her new life away from Weatherfield and advance her journalistic career.
She started her investigation after learning that Daisy had been tricking Ryan into thinking that he had saved her from the acid assault and that they had subsequently had a passionate affair behind Daniel Osbourne’s (Rob Mallard) back.
She employed devious methods to film troubled teen Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) discussing the incident and then wrote it down when Daniel (understandably) refused to talk about it.
Daisy was devastated earlier this week when Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) unintentionally forwarded the exposé to every Rover.
She gave Bethany a hard blow when she brought up the occasion she kissed Daniel while his late wife Sinead (Katie McGlynn) was dying as she marched around to the builder’s yard apartment.
After that, she had an affair with Daniel and went to town to get her sorrows drowned.
In the episode that aired today, March 1, Daisy declared to Jenny that she was seeking retribution and called the editor of Chit-Chat magazine to let them know that she intended to file a lawsuit, claiming that she wanted Bethany fired.
It looked like the love triangle would never be able to get past Bethany’s treachery after another heated fight on Victoria Street.
Bethany had a heart-to-heart with Daniel, who confessed that he was both proud and envious of her accomplishments, when she lost her job.
As one pair made their peace, another soon followed. Ryan had returned to Glasgow’s streets, telling everyone that he had split up with his girlfriend Crystal Hyde (Erin Austen). Soon after, he and Daisy exchanged passionate kisses and walked into the Rovers hand in hand.
