On Coronation Street, Linda Hancock (Jacqueline Leonard) is known for interfering with Chesney’s (Sam Aston) and Gemma’s (Dolly-Rose Campbell) interactions with their family, especially with Joseph (William Flanagan), Linda’s grandson.

Since Joseph’s quad siblings have joined the family, Linda has always felt that he is pushed out. She once frightened Chesney by proposing that Joseph move to Portugal to live with her.

Typically, Linda’s actions are well-intentioned and motivated by a genuine desire for Joseph’s success. However, she is unaware that her suggestions that Joseph’s parents are not raising him appropriately are an affront to their sensibilities.

Linda tried contacting a custody solicitor not too long ago regarding Joseph and the quads.

Those notions were dashed when Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) was brought home from prison, and the family has been cautious around Linda ever since.

In upcoming episodes, Linda will be involved in significant decisions regarding Joseph’s life once more, but this time, it will be his education that has influenced her perspective.

Recently, Joseph missed some school due to an illness that later proved to be Lyme disease. Following this, Linda believes he might benefit from transferring to Oakhill, a private school.

Even if he had felt this was a brilliant idea, Chesney points out that they would never be able to pay the fees.

When Linda tells him it won’t be an issue and she’ll cover everything, he’s astounded.

Gemma is incensed when she discovers the Oakhill prospectus in the home and shoves it in a drawer. She informs Chesney that the project is doomed and that he must persuade Linda to stop interfering.

Could Gemma and Chesney be convinced to reconsider, though? Gemma is advised by Paul (Peter Ash) and Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown) to prioritize Joseph. They tell her it’s the opportunity of a lifetime.

Is she really ready to let her hatred of Joseph’s grandma prevent him from having access to a higher education?
