Daniel Osbourne, played by Rob Mallard on Coronation Street, is a smart, funny, and attractive man, but might he also be a serial killer? In next episodes, as the hunt for Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) turns into a murder investigation, this is the question the police start to consider.
Sean (Antony Cotton), who is thinking about renting Lauren’s apartment, arrives to take a look and finds bloodstains on the drapes, which is a grisly finding.
This is promptly brought to the attention of DS Swain (Vicky Myers), who, along by Craig (Colson Smith), goes to investigate.
After asking Daniel about his tutoring sessions with Lauren, Max Turner (Paddy Bever) begins to wonder what might have happened to Lauren.

The police are curious to find out if Max has any information regarding Lauren’s secret boyfriend, who she frequently mentioned, when he goes to report Lauren’s O-Vidz account. Although Max claims he has never met Lauren’s boyfriend, he has always thought Daniel was the one.
This is enough to make DS Swain suspicious, so she approaches Daniel and raises the possibility that Lauren may have compensated for their tutoring sessions with sexual favors.
Although Daniel is appalled by this remark, Swain brings up a few incidents in Daniel’s past to imply that he may not be as perfect as he seems.
One factor is his past romance with former prostitute Nicky Wheatley (Kimberly Hart-Simpson).

Another is the time he was charged with “blurring the boundaries” while teaching and Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) was a student he had a crush on in addition to another student he tutored privately.
Daniel realizes that things are not looking good for him and becomes extremely concerned when he learns that the police are now considering Lauren’s disappearance as a potential murder case in which he may be involved.
Subsequently, Daniel trembles as he confides in Ken (William Roache) about what transpired, telling his father that he fears he will be accused of a crime he did not commit.
