Partner Cindy (Michelle Collins) of EastEnders’ Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) intends to exploit this trait to establish lasting roots in Albert Square.

She just placed a bid on the pawnbrokers website with the intention of converting it into a pie and mash business, but she encountered a roadblock when her agreement with the Panesars was figuratively torn to pieces.

She quickly made the decision to regain what was properly hers, however, after learning that George Knight (Colin Salmon) would be selling their Marbella bar.

Sadly, she messed everything up again by snogging George in front of a shocked Gina (Francesca Henry), who then told everyone in the pub about her treachery.

Due to this circumstance, George broke his pledge to give Cindy and Ian 50% of the transaction, leaving them back where they started.

With Cindy around, Ian should have known he would never be able to lead a tranquil existence, and things are expected to stay that way in subsequent episodes.

Things go heated when Ian and Cindy discover what Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley) is up to when he arranges a family dinner in an effort to persuade them to allow him and Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) to move back into No. 45.

Later, when Kathy tells Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) that she misses her son, Sharon resolves to have Ian over for coffee and mediate the conflict between the two parties.

Coffee quickly turns into wine, and finally Kathy and Ian mend their relationship while intoxicated before returning to No. 45 to deal with a less than impressed Cindy.

As harsh words are exchanged, Cindy and Kathy quickly get back at each other’s throats in typical EastEnders manner.

The following morning, a hangover Ian has deal with a discouraging phone call in addition to his family droning on about investment chances.

The caller informs him that they now have competition for the pawnbrokers lease, which might jeopardize their entire strategy.

Without any financial support, Ian uses his heart attack to try to gain Elaine’s (Harriet Thorpe) and George’s sympathy votes at the Vic.

Elaine quickly figures him out, and George takes great pleasure in announcing that Cindy has no claim to the proceeds from the sale of the Marbella bar, meaning the two of them won’t receive a dime of it.

Are their hopes for a pie and mash business going to be dashed?
