EastEnders spoilers: Major hint dropped over Ian Beale’s long awaited return with Cindy

We have been excitedly speculating about what may bring Ian and Cindy Beale back to Albert Square ever since it was announced that they will be returning to EastEnders (played by Adam Woodyatt and Michelle Collins).

As she made preparations for her impending wedding, Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) dropped a huge hint on tonight’s (June 14) episode of the BBC soap opera.

Kathy eventually received some good news following a visit from Rocky Cotton’s (Brian Conley) troubled wife Jo (Vicki Michelle) and the arrival of Jasper the parrot to the household.

Despite the chatty parrot keeping her up all night, Kathy’s mood improved when Rocky disclosed that he had made arrangements for them to visit the registrar office and set an official date for the wedding.

He planned cover at the café and made sure he had arranged the necessary licence for Lola’s wake after finally obtaining the divorce papers from Jo in order to devote the day totally to their wedding preparations.

After settling on a date for July, the couple met with Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) and her boyfriend Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) in the Queen Vic to work out the details.

After expressing his enthusiasm for the special day, Reiss quickly started to feel anxious as he questioned if he would truly be invited or be eligible to be Sonia’s plus one.

With Kathy reiterating that she wanted everyone to attend, including her son Ian, Rocky gave him the assurance that he would receive an invitation.

Residents of Walford haven’t seen Ian since his abrupt departure in 2020, but watchers seen him covertly pay his respects to Dot Cotton on the day of her burial in 2022.

Could Kathy’s wedding be the catalyst for Ian’s reappearance, who is expected to make a significant comeback in the next months alongside ex-wife Cindy?

And with their rocky history, what will Kathy make of Cindy’s arrival?
