Emmerdale spoilers: Charity takes revenge on Chloe with public attack

At least she got her moment! (Pictures: ITV)

On Tuesday (July 4)’s visit to Emmerdale, a hurriedly planned wedding party/photo opportunity for newlyweds Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) and Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) fell into expected mayhem. In the midst of the bickering, pouting, and general unpleasantness, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) decided to exact some magnificent public vengeance on her romantic rival Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland).

Since no one had taken any photos at the wedding, Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) came up with the concept of a photo session. Under the direction of Lydia (Karen Blick), this quickly developed into a genuine celebration at the Woolpack, replete with balloons and other decorations that Chas (Lucy Pargeter) pointed out were leftover from Charity and Mackenzie’s (Lawrence Robb) wedding.

‘Yeah. As if it weren’t the death kiss, muttered Charity.

One of the most embarrassing parties ever was that one. First of all, it was clear that the bride had no desire to go at all. Caleb (William Ash) had been invited, but as she is the only Dingle who still views him as family in light of his recent treachery, everyone was eager to shut him up whenever he spoke.

The mood between Suzy (Martelle Edinborough) and Leyla (Roxy Shahidi) was strained since Tracy had given them notice to leave Tug Ghyll earlier so she, Nate, and Frankie may move in. However, they arrived for a drink rather than the party.

The entrance of Mackenzie and Chloe was the most uncomfortable of all. Since Chloe had been invited to Sarah’s (Katie Hill) birthday party, Moira (Natalie J. Robb) assumed Charity would be okay with Chloe attending the party since he is her brother and Nate’s best friend.

They were not welcome, according to Charity. She was glaring at Chloe for taking the main stage in the family image as everyone sat down for a group shot.

The old Dingle custom of drinking from a welly was being attempted by Sam (James Hooton), but Tracy was laughing and pulling the welly away.

Chloe said, “Ugh, that is disgusting.” That pretentious attitude was not tolerated by Charity. Don’t belittle tradition, she continued, because it is what it is. Tracy had said the same thing, Chloe objected, but Charity responded, “She’s family – you’re not.”

Chloe irritated Charity even more by saying to Mack, “I’m glad I’m not family if I had to drink from that.”

“But you know what?” As she picked up the full welly, the landlord said. You ought to try, I tell you. She then tipped the container’s full contents over Chloe’s head.

As Charity sat back down, the camera flashed, capturing a group photo of everyone smiling broadly, including Charity, who appeared pretty happy with herself, and Chloe, whose hair was practically dripping with beer.

It’s a little triumph for Charity, but one that she can cherish each time the Dingle family photo album is accessed.
