Fans of EastEnders are speculating that Mick Carter may be returning dramatically to Albert Square after the discovery of Danny Dyer sharing a romantic photo with his on-screen spouse Kellie Bright. After Danny’s character Mick Carter tragically vanished at sea over the Christmas season in 2022, the 46-year-old actor famously left the serial opera. Following a heated altercation between Linda Carter and Janine Butcher (played by Charlie Brooks), Mick bravely dove into the surf to rescue the two ladies.

But he disappeared under the waves, and no one has seen him since. Linda is devastated that Mick was deemed “presumed dead” by authorities since his corpse was never discovered. However, on Wednesday, May 22, fans went crazy when Kellie posted a cute photo with Danny on her Instagram, stoking speculation that the adored Queen Vic landlord could be getting ready for a spectacular homecoming.

According to MyLondon, Kellie and Danny can be seen cuddled up in the endearing picture, with his arm over her, grinning at the camera and obviously enjoying their catch-up.

“A little photo of me and @officialdannydyer for all the Mick and Linda fans out there,” Kellie, 47, said in the post’s charming description. She also included a love heart emoji. As soon as the post was made, fans began to speculate about Danny maybe playing Mick again. One of them said, “Great pic of you two.” I hope Mick returns to the square soon. Mick, your El needs you.” “The best duo,” said another admirer. One person said, “Mick and Linda forever,” while another said, “MICK AND LINDA REUNION.”

A particularly animated admirer inquired, “Is’my Mick’ coming back!?!?!?” while another just cried, “Oh my lord”.

Danny has presented the reality series Scared of the Dark and fronted the Netflix game show Cheat after leaving the serial opera. Earlier in the year, he directed the ensemble of the Australian thriller series Heat and produced Danny Dyer: How To Be A Man, a Channel 4 documentary.

His next project is the Disney+ series Rivals, which is based on the same-titled Jilly Cooper book set in the made-up county of Rutshire. Victoria Smurfit, David Tennant, Aidan Turner, and Alex Hassell are also featured in the drama. Danny will portray Freddie Jones, a kind and pleasant self-made electronics billionaire who, along with his socially awkward wife Valerie, finds himself on the outside of Rutshire’s social circles.
