Emmerdale spoilers: Amelia loses it when Mandy destroys her gift to jailed dad Dan

After Dan (Liam Fox) left Emmerdale, Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell) had a hard time coping with her feelings.

In the ITV soap opera from yesterday night (August 17), Dan was given an 8-year prison term. After Lloyd died, which was only brought about by Dan hitting him, he was accused of manslaughter.

Dan would do time in prison, and Amelia knew it, but she prayed it wouldn’t be for too long. She promised herself that she would be by herself for almost a year before welcoming Dan back to the Dales.

That, regrettably, won’t be the case.

She was determined to be tough and independent on her first day without Dan, in classic Amelia manner. When Claudette (Flo Wilson) arrived, the youngster hurried out of the salon after telling Mandy (Lisa Riley) that she needed more appointments to pay the rent.

As Claudette and Mandy faced off, Claudette explained that while she wants to assist Amelia, things won’t improve until she accepts assistance and support from others.

Amelia caught Claudette and Mandy in the kitchen when she got home. Amelia felt suffocated despite Mandy’s cleaning and Claudette’s cooking, despite their best intentions to make things better for her.

As the situation worsened, Mandy made a mistake, causing Dan’s Best Dad Ever mug to tumble and crash to the ground.

Amelia, who was inconsolable, said that she was leaving and wished for Mandy and Claudette to be gone when she returned.

Charles (Kevin Mathurin) gave Amelia advice in the church. He gently informed Amelia that she would undoubtedly encounter challenges and that the villagers fully intended to support her and Esther up until Dan gets home.

Amelia sobbed as they hugged, terrified by how drastically her life has altered.
