The malevolent rapist Craig Reed (played by Ben Addis) persisted in believing that the sex he coerced Lydia Dingle (played by Karen Blick) was consensual, refusing to acknowledge that he had committed a major crime.

As Craig engaged in conversation with an unaware Sam (James Hooton) at the Dingle dinner table, Lydia felt overpowered and made excuses to quickly go outside.

She followed sick Craig outdoors, however, and was still unable to get away from him.

When Lydia protested that she didn’t want Craig in her home with her family, he stayed unnaturally composed and encouraged her not to feel bad about their past interactions. Lydia was upset.

Craig informed Lydia that it was what they had both wanted and that all the indicators pointed to it, but he refused to accept responsibility for raping her.

Craig persisted in acting naive, telling him that they were “in this together,” despite Lydia’s apology for maybe giving him the incorrect impression.

He continued, admitting that he felt something for her and that he was thrilled to have her back in his life. He said that their reunion was evidence that destiny had intended for them to be together.

Lydia was shocked when Craig firmly declared that he wasn’t going anywhere, despite her pleading for him to leave her and her family alone.

Lydia fearing that she would never be able to be free from Craig, boldly went to the police station to report her attacker.

Lydia broke down in the interview room, taking full responsibility for what had transpired and worrying about the consequences for her family should they find out.

Lydia decided against reporting Craig after receiving a call from Sam on her phone and decided to go home to spend time with her family.

Will she be brave enough to speak up about her horrifying experience, or will she choose to suffer in silence?
