ITV Emmerdale fans threaten to ‘switch off’ as ‘illegal’ scene goes too far

While Emmerdale fans were having a great time tonight leading a special karaoke session in the Woolpack, some were threatening to turn off the soap opera.

Fans of Emmerdale made hints that they would “switch off” during a special karaoke night held at the Woolpack pub on Tuesday’s episode of the serial drama.

Taking on the role of karaoke presenter, Gail Loman (portrayed by Rachael Gill-Davis) gave out free drinks to those who dared to sing. But supporters weren’t too fond of the exciting evening.

Just before Suzy departed to Canada, Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) used this opportunity to try and win back her ex-partner Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough).

Louise Jameson’s character Mary Goskirk, who has grown fond of Suzy, was devastated to see them growing closer.

But the fans’ attention was mostly focused on the karaoke. One person tweeted, “Omg Gail! “, expressing their thoughts rather clearly. Put down the #Emmerdale song.”

One of them stated: “Swirling needs to bust down the saloon doors and arrest Gail for crimes against music #Emmerdale.” Emma continued, “Please make her stop singing!!!!!! #Emmerdale.”

Frances added: “As if the storylines weren’t bad enough we now have to endure karaoke #Emmerdale.”

A different admirer wrote: “Just had to leave the room to have my ears rearranged after that dubious karaoke performance #Emmerdale.”

Michelle Hardwick hinted before that her character and Express.co.uk might be involved in an impending love triangle.

Vanessa returned and, in terms of their relationship, we left it on a really high one with Suzy. This is what fans can expect, she said. It was all quite wonderful, even though they weren’t together when they went and had a little kiss.”

“Clearly, Vanessa is returning to the town, and since Vanessa views Mary as a mother figure, Vanessa is completely oblivious to the possibility of a romantic relationship between Suzy and Mary. Vanessa is completely unaware of this. Whether or if Suzy wants to, we’ll just have to wait and see, but I believe Vanessa will attempt to restart her relationship with her.”

After delivering a baby, Michelle has made a comeback to the soap opera as part of the Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) and Ivy plotline. Regarding her comeback, she declared, “It’s just fantastic.”

“I had no idea how much I genuinely missed the location. Even though it’s been 14 months, I genuinely feel like I’ve never been away from it. I adore it. Though fortunately they have returned, I was concerned that they would not be able to remember the lines.”
