Thursday night’s Emmerdale was filled with terrifying images as the ITV soap opera’s horrific abuse plotline saw sinister Tom King manipulating Belle Dingle once again.

On Thursday night, Emmerdale was filled with terrifying moments as the villainous Tom King deceived Belle Dingle once again.

Fans have seen Tom manipulating and isolating his girlfriend Belle as part of the coercive control plotline that the ITV soap opera is handling with the characters. Recent incidents took an even more tragic turn when Tom became angry, his depraved conduct becoming worse, and he was watching her.

Tom, who earlier this week feigned to receive assistance but really informed doctor Liam Cavanagh that Belle had a problem, resorted to new, desperate means on Thursday’s episode. It was Belle’s mother Lisa Dingle’s death anniversary during the most recent installment. But Tom doesn’t accept the day, so he tricked Belle into staying home to wait for a package that he said would arrive at 1pm, rather than allowing them to go on a family picnic.

After that, Tom went to an interview for a performance evaluation, where his coworkers at the vets, Vanessa Woodfield and Rhona Goskirk, had some criticism for him. He then used Lisa’s death anniversary to influence the two after learning he wasn’t receiving a positive assessment. Belle, meantime, waited until around 1:00 pm, at which point her family—who had already departed without her—headed to join her.

Tom began criticising Belle for spoiling the day and her later mother Lisa after finding out she hadn’t waited in for his package. Many locals watched as Belle lost her temper and shoved Tom, causing him to fall to the ground. Tom then revealed himself as a victim, seeming disturbed. Sam Dingle and Lydia consoled Belle.

Lydia informed Tom that Belle would be staying with them, but Belle later had second thoughts and insisted on staying at home with Tom. Tom then subtly suggested that Belle get assistance for her actions. Lydia expressed worry for Belle throughout the scenes and said that she seemed worried about something.

Viewers are certain that Lydia will be the one to confront Tom on Twitter, particularly after seeing next week’s leaks show Belle leaving the town and, in an unexpected turn of events, asking Lydia to visit rather than Tom, shocking the veterinarian. Someone commented, “Come on Lydia, do the detective work & help Belle get the hell out of her rotten marriage #Emmerdale,” another remarked, “I wish she wd tell someone everything eg Lydia #Emmerdale,” and yet another said, “#Emmerdale will Lydia crack on that Belle’s not right.”

Others speculate that Vanessa and Rhona may chastise Tom for his deceptive actions at the performance review interview. “After the way he manipulated them,” said one guy. One person commented, “Given the way Tom spoke to Rhona and Vanessa, SURELY they must start to see through him #Emmerdale,” while another said, “Surely Vanessa and Rhona would realise Tom had wound Belle up for her to react like that #Emmerdale.”
