Emmerdale’s Rishi’s cause of death revealed after fans feared ‘sinister’ twist

As Rishi Sharma’s cause of death was revealed on Friday night, Emmerdale was filled with poignant scenes as some viewers concerned there could have been a “sinister” twist.

After many anticipated a “sinister” twist, Rishi Sharma of Emmerdale’s cause of death was made public on Friday’s episode. Rishi was absent last week while Jai Sharma and Laurel Thomas celebrated their marriage with their family and friends since he and his son had a falling out over the youngster’s deception on who his true father was.

In a tearful statement, Jai praised his father Rishi for always being there for him and spoke about celebrating with friends who were not present. He also promised to call to Rishi soon and express how much he meant to him. In a devastating twist, Jai found Rishi’s body last Friday, and the camera then moved to see him lying dead at the foot of the steps.

Since Rishi had a history of cardiac problems, many soap watchers quickly made assumptions about his cause of death, such that he may have fallen down the stairs or suffered a heart attack. As they speculated about potential suspects, other viewers, however, expected a more sinister turn of events and suggested that Rishi may have been pushed down the steps.

In spite of fans’ suspicion, Rishi’s cause of death was identified as an accidential fall in Friday’s episode. Dad’s body has been liberated, Jai informed his brand-new bride Laurel. The cause of death was an unintentional fall, according to the coroner. Oh Jai, I know you worried it was his heart so that’s a great weight lifted, Laurel said in response. Jai said, “Yeah, it is, and now I can concentrate on giving him the best send-off that I can.”

It comes after Bhasker Patel, who plays Rishi in Emmerdale, broke his silence following the shocking death of his beloved character after 12 years in the community. In an emotional appearance on Lorraine with Jai co-star Chris Bisson, Rishi actor Bhasker, 67, broke down at the decision to kill off his character in the ITV serial opera.

“When the producer called me and said, ‘I need to talk to you and we’re killing you off because we want a big story and it’s going to be a big surprise,'” the man recalled. ITV let me to do a lot of other work over my twelve years there, so I felt a part of Rishi and ITV at the same time as I was working in London. I thought, “Okay, that part of my life with this guy is over and I’m going to move on,” until the producer stated, “We’re going to kill you off.”

“It’s brutal, though: ‘We’re going to kill you off,’ what a sentence to hear,” added guest host Christine Lampard. Bhasker wiped away emotions as Christine, 44, chose to read out some letters from fans later in the performance.
